    wow ... do they eventually lose all color or does it stay patchy like that?

    I saw a case of an Akita with vitiligo and from 5 months to just 10 months the black saddle and face turned to all white. Here is a little more information with what happens with the fur: "Affected areas may re-pigment, remain unchanged or wax and wane. Usually the full extent of the depigmentation occurs within 3 to 6 months of the onset of the disease."

    From the moment I saw the picture I thought I am on the joke category of this forum,I thought it was painted white... :( It is so sad .....I didn't know that there is a type of disease like that on a rottie breed.Nice share..

    I've seen this on one doberman as well, once when I was at a showring. She was'n shown tho, but just visiting like me. I've also seen this on one cat, but eventually it got so bad that it was better to just let him go to sleep one last time. The skin became very sore and itchy :(

    Yes that's what I thought, I still wanna wipe the slobber up and then give him a hug. lol

    :( Poor kitty, it really is a shame if it becomes bad. Although it can look neat...that's why it's highly recommended to not allow these guys to reproduce. I guess it can crop up anywhere.
